I'm a night vision enthusiast :) .... over the last 30 years I've bought/owned dozens of night vision and thermal cameras and used as much as possible. To tell you the truth, I'm not easily impressed, the NV has to be well designed, well made and very easy to use, durable/waterproof to get an IMOI stock rating as does the overall design concept of this digital camera device , In particular, widescreen optics, this is what "sellsโ this device, because it promises an excellent field of view, as well as the ability to quickly and easily zoom in and out on interesting targets. The problem lies in this good idea. is poorly executed so it just doesn't work as well as you hope/expect. Zoom in/out buttons require manual refocusing of the lens after each use of the zoom button, plus the control buttons are shorted too close together and all feel the same in the dark. They should be easy to tell by touch which key is which, and it would be much better if they had a soft/muted blue or purple glow so you can easily look at them if you need to to determine which key, if any, you're pressing in the dark have to. Of course it will increase the price, but it's worth it in my opinion, it's small details like this that make the difference between keepers and crate sleepers. The IR light is another issue, it just isn't that powerful and there aren't any mounting points to add further illumination. Then we have a cheap eyecup that protects the screen from light when you look through it. It's poorly designed and doesn't really work as it's just too stiff to press against your face without being uncomfortable. What I really like is that it comes with a choker. it would be ridiculous to wear it without. I really like the carrying case it comes in. In addition, it is quite durable and fairly resistant to weather and water. as well as the ability to capture digital video/images. So, in general, the NV-900 is a "working" device. but it annoys me because of the economical construction, I would have liked to have implemented this idea professionally, even if it was more expensive. The end result WILL be a device that looks like it but actually makes you smile from ear to ear when you use it. YES, 900 is cool. but it's not great quality. It's just a cool NV toy, sorry to put it that way, but that's about the size. 3 stars - somewhat recommendable / good budget block
