If your plastic waste is leaking due to cracking/aging this is a great alternative. I've read that some mods like this for the N54 have the o-ring too big which causes the ring to crumple. The standard model is larger/thicker to prevent long-term leakage. Basically, BEFORE attaching the hose to it, I just lubricated the ring with lithium grease and gently (without using force) turned it back and forth until it went right in, THEN attached the hose. Keep in mind that this is a SPECIAL product that you will probably NEVER need to take it off again (just swap out the hose for a clamp), so the manufacturer has kindly accommodated that by making the ring a bit bigger and stronger. me a piece of mind.
