Review on πŸ₯” Top-rated Stainless Steel Masher Potato & Bean Masher - Premium Quality, Heavy-gauge Construction, and Easy Grip by Lauren Smith

Revainrating 2 out of 5

It rubs well, but the rest is very bad.

The metal is quite thick, and we've had no trouble on dozens of dishes with potatoes, guac, or fried beans with the working end bent or loosened, so this part is good. However, that is all that is good. The grip, which is comfortable enough but could be a little shorter, is a major flaw. It has never been well attached/glued/whatever to the ABS part. It's clearly not meant to be removed as I saw some sort of adhesive in it the first time I used it that washes right away, but read on to see why it really SHOULD be removed after each use. How we solved this problem. is that on my second use I noticed that when the handle got hot from my hand it would drip and get into the food if I gave it a chance. The handle was pretty hard to get off the first time, but when I did, about a half ounce of old dishwasher water spilled out. Slightly traumatic. So when you wash something with a handle, it soaks up the water, holds it and lets it fester, and then it spills out the next time you mash it. Part of the handle should come off even if we hand wash the pusher and it's actually quite difficult to make sure there's nothing left in the handle. I also feel like it gets looser every time the grip is removed and reinstalled so it's only a matter of time before it becomes unusable. First keep an eye on the removed handle until everything is dry, then reinstall the handle, it should work fine for you. If you have a friend who really loves collecting pollution sources, this would make a fun gift! If you like a good product, look elsewhere.
