Review on Auto Expressions-223102 Roof Top Cargo Carrier: Grey, Water Resistant, Maximize Your Car's Storage Capacity by Bryan Ramirez

Excellent luggage rack for the price

I used it on a recent camping trip. Attached it to the top of my Hyundai Santa Fe which only has 2 side bars. For 15cu. ft. he can swallow 3 camp chairs, 4 sleeping bags and 2 queen size air mattresses. I routed high strength nylon cable between the 2 roof rails to create 2 more anchor points that run between the rails. So it was attached to two rails at the front and back and wrapped around the rope strands on the left and right. PROS: I stuffed it pretty full, almost to the limit, and the zippers held, didn't break or come undone. The 8 (2 on each side) mounts really attaches it to the car so it doesn't cause road noise or drift. Got 82mph on descent and thing held up with no shifting or damage. It's about $10 cheaper than a comparable freighter at Walmart, which is only 13 cubic feet. Works on 2 or 4 roof bars with some extra ropes/cords. (not included) CONS: When fully loaded, the brackets feel a bit short but barely reach the roof rack. So make sure you get the roof rails as close to the trunk as possible. The attachment net is a separate part. It takes a little time to figure out how to properly position it on a cargo carrier. Not bad, but it would be nice if it came assembled. Because it's not rigid, it can be a bit flexible and awkward to attach. Overall this is a good product for the price and has definitely been tested at speeds in excess of typical freeway speeds (82 mph). I love the amount of binding, I feel like it doesn't come loose even when I twist hard.
