A must have for your RV screen door. Must be original equipment!

I had to buy this when we moved to Discovery. Or should I say Fleetwood had to install this bar on their screen door as original equipment. It's sturdy, reliable and good looking. Most importantly, this rod allows you to easily and effectively close the screen door when entering the car. A common design issue with RVs is the position of the door in relation to the steps, as several steps must be climbed down to attempt to open the door latch. If you have that bar on the door, that's a target for your grip. This bar has no moving parts but offers a great and secure grip with one hand when the other hits the latch, the bar gets even better when it's closed. Latches are usually petals that must be either pulled or pressed to activate. A handle attached to the door makes it easy to close the door when entering the rig. A pen is a must. Too bad I didn't see him before. Here's an assembly tip that will make the bar even more secure than simply attaching it with the included 4 self-tapping screws. The included installation guide is easy to follow, but here's a tip on how to make the crossbar part of the door. Before assembly, clean each of the flat surfaces of the two black mounting arms with 70% ethanol and apply 3M Automotive Double Sided Tape (it's black) to each of the black ends. Make a hole for each screw and then install the rod. The flexible band has a strong adhesive and prevents the pole from coming loose during use. I use this assembly method for everything I do in an RV and it has never let me down. My bar is still strong, sturdy and reliable. The product is well made and fits and the finish is on the top shelf.
