NOT able to stay energized all the time. By not conducting load current, only the relay coil gets energized, they go HOT, HOT, HOT. So hot you can't touch it. I ran these relays off a regular 12 volt battery to keep them from over-saturating. I was just checking that they could run continuously and they were NOT. The coil current is 1.5 amps, which is really quite a lot. As a counter-argument, I've bought another brand of 500A relays, which draw much less current (0.5 amps) and never feel more than warm to the touch under the same conditions.
