Gaps after Printing - Additive Manufacturing Products

The finished product is durable and of high quality. However, after printing, which usually takes a night, the filament between the spool and the printhead invariably breaks. Small flaws hidden when winding on the bobbin slowly increase after straightening the thread, causing the strands to fail? This applies to both clear (currently used) and black yarn, which has recently been used up and removed. If it breaks, it leaves a 1- to 6-inch fragment that needs to be discarded (unless I want to wait to manually feed new filament while the broken end gradually goes through the extruder). I respectfully note that a larger coil to coil diameter may alleviate the problem.
