Bought this for a desktop gaming PC with no wireless card in 2013. At the time I was living in a college dorm that didn't have wired ethernet in the rooms . I don't know if the problems are due to the school's wireless security restrictions or to this card, but the connection dropped quite often. (Wi-Fi itself did not turn off, since my phone remained connected, but the desktop using this card suddenly stopped connecting to the network and had to be disconnected and then reconnected and started working. Wait 3 hours. Needs to be disconnected then reconnected ) It took a lot of troubleshooting to connect half the time. Sometimes things went well for a while and then they didn't. Luckily I moved out of this hostel after a few months and couldn't use it anymore, but it was a cheap solution that mostly worked. I still have it if I ever need it.
