I bought this over 6 months ago and have put it on about 2500 miles. I've banged them against rocks and roots a few times expecting to find damage given the light weight, but haven't found any at all. The bearings are still like new, no play. They have cartridge bearings which seem to be a better design than free floating ball bearings. Therefore, they are much lighter, stronger and more durable. The only issue some might have is that the clipping is a bit different once you're used to SPDs. I think you need to get a little closer to the pedal from the back of the pedal. Once I figured that out, I was able to achieve the speed and consistency of standard SPDs. However, this only matters to those who race and need to adjust quickly/consistently early in the race.
