This device places a fan on the bottom of the laptop to blow air around it to keep it cool. The cooler is quite durable and is made of plastic and metal mesh. It is lightweight and the two rear legs can be folded down for travel. The cooler is powered by a USB cable that plugs into the computer. The cable also replicates the USB port, so you don't lose the ability to use the port. There is no mechanism to store the cord when not in use. Some see this as a disadvantage; I just don't see it as a problem. The cooler places the laptop at an angle to make typing more comfortable. I'm amazed at how much air it blows out. There is enough space below for a freezer if you are working in a hot area. For me there is only one downside. My Macbook has a slick aluminum bottom that causes it to slowly slide off the ramp. I fixed this by screwing two small bumpers to the bottom edge. This was easy to do because I simply screwed into the two holes in the mesh that were already there.
