First, as there are several different models currently shown in the photos in the listing, I will tell you that the pair I received most closely resembled the photo, currently shown in the fifth photo - with a slit in the handle. The brakes feel well constructed and have a nice finish. The mechanism is smooth and has a much better feel than other brake levers of this type that I have. They are easy to install on my commuter bike, including installing new brake cables (sold separately). Combined with some Salmon Kool-Stop brake pads, I enjoyed confident and quiet braking, even with a heavy commuter bike and full panniers on some hilly New England roads. I can recommend these brake levers.
