This article was very cheap and exactly what I needed. I have 2 Raspberry Pi 3s (one as a NAS and own cloud server), the other as a Kodi set top box - each connected to a different router. I need to SSH into these boxes on a regular basis and wanted them to be available regardless of the router I'm currently connected to. I use it as a hotspot on my network. This allows my first router to handle DHCP and provides a single network with no subnet. This is important if you want your devices to communicate with each other. Once I updated the firmware to the latest version with hotspot mode, everything was a breeze. I now have a strong signal everywhere in my house and yard with the added convenience of being able to SSH into all my devices no matter what router I'm connected to.
