In July 2017 as a preventative maintenance I replaced the drive belts, water pump, pulleys and more. It seemed to be working fine at the time. In May 2021, while driving my well-maintained BMW, my power steering failed. I pull over to find my drive belt dangling in the engine compartment. (see photos) Of course I'm more than 15 minutes away from home. I can't get home without a generator connected. Great, now I'm in a bind. Further investigation revealed that the pulley I replaced (which worked perfectly prior to the replacement) fell apart a few years ago. Someone came to save me and take me home. I dug through the extra/old parts box and found a 12 year old OEM BMW pulley that worked great when I took it off. I could put the old one in and drive home. To save some money I now spent $13 on this piece of junk in addition to the price of the original BMW pulley I had yet to purchase. And a few favors when I had an awkward relapse. Thank you URO
