Due to a delivery error from Revain I had two of these and I have to say they work. When I installed the first one and saw the temperature drop on the Raspberry PI 4G model, I was impressed enough to buy another Raspberry PI 4 (the 8G model this time) just to have it on it (okay, that was halfway there plausible). My apologies for buying another PI). I hit the 4G PI so hard that I'm wondering how it didn't catch fire and melt (100% CPU and RAM for just over 2 hours) and while it heated up as expected, it didn't fail and melt : ) I very much doubt anyone has a use case for a system that has been taxed for so long (I just did it for S&G), but I do know that thermal sync can at least prevent the system from becoming a molten heap or a fire hazard. Personally I could live without the backlight as my Pi isn't meant to be looked at, but it's not frustrating and doesn't affect performance at all. Another thing to note is that the PI won't fit in a bearing housing with this thing without some tweaking, but I agree with that.
