Provides fast and accurate temperature readings when cooking meat or poultry. I've been using the product for 6 months with no problems. But the last time I washed it, the probe broke off the case, rendering the device unusable. So why 4 stars for a product with design flaws? I wrote to the company explaining the problem and two days later a new thermometer appeared in my mailbox. I received this advice from the company. When cleaning, hold the probe, not the body of the device. My guess is that by holding the body and rubbing the probe you can pull it out of the body, as was the case with me.
