OEM - Best - Gaskets

Ford Quality Part Now to clear the confusion about gasket leaks you MUST use the correct gasket for your application. 1996 Bronco and 96-later F-Series with E4Od with Original Equipment transmission pan should use this gasket. If your transmission oil pan says "The oil pan is equipped with a reusable gasket" this is what you need. You CANNOT use this gasket on earlier E4OD models unless you have a replacement transmission pan. that holds this seal. Here's how to tell: Look at the transponder guide, which has 20 screws going through it. If this guide has a perfectly smooth surface where it contacts the gear case, then this gasket is a correct fit. If your shipping guide has a lug between the screws and each screw hole has a lug surrounding the hole, you will need to use a paper, cork, or neoprene/cork gasket. Also make sure your pallet rails are flat and smooth. Sometimes they warp and become wavy from over tightening the bolts or prying open the sump to drain it. It's also worth noting that 2WD trucks leave the factory with flat pallets, while 4WD trucks have deep pallets. Make sure you buy the right transfilter for your pan. But many 2WD trucks can have a removable oil pan, most of which are some type of deep oil pan. Almost all filters come with a paper, cork or neoprene/cork gasket. Much luck.
