Review on ๐ŸŽฎ Enhanced Streaming and Gaming: Actiontec Screenbeam MoCA 2.5 Network Adapter for Ethernet Over Coax (2 Pack) - 1 Gbps Ethernet, Coax to Ethernet Adapter (Model: ECB6250K02) by Charles Stennis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

They hate RG59, unfortunately Actiontec didn't mention mileage limits or coax requirements. $300 down the drain.

I bought 4 of these to serve Interwebz in several entertainment centers. My house is big and even with 802.11AC repeaters only about 30MB will work, so I was hoping they would get better. Unfortunately, they are not synced over RG59 at all. I even put an adapter in the JBox that goes straight to the rooms I have to service and not a coax light. The only room I could get light in was served by a single 50ft RG6QS barrel. Please note that I do not run anything over coaxial cable. The HSI is CAT6 from the ONT and my Dish Network service runs its own RG6 directly to the STB so this RG59 is probably clean. I've also tried turning off any open wall outlets but still no light. So 3 stars for the fact that the 4 units I bought were non DOA and would work if I had an RG6, but Actiontec should mention the barrel length limitations and that they don't sync to RG59 unless , they run DOA for short.

Pros
  • ADVANCED SECURITY AND EASY SETUP. With the new MOCA Protected Setup (MPS) technology, you get additional security in your home network by being able to securely connect additional adapters. You don't have to reconfigure the router with the adapter.
Cons
  • No power
