DO NOT buy this hood.

I'm a professional in the business, not just an amateur. My last range hood eventually stopped working and instead of being smart and spending money on a more expensive, more reliable, tried and tested range hood, I thought, 'Let me give this cheaper company with a one-day name Yeswelder a shot, so how positive the reviews are."A terrible idea on my part. Let me make that mistake for you, don't buy this hood. Why? Fairly comfortable hood. It's also as light as advertised. That's a design flaw. That's just another weak point waiting to be added to a list that will soon grow longer 2. Everything about this hood is poorly constructed the battery door is just a cheap sliding piece so poorly constructed that one of the legs is holding it up didn't slip, get stuck or open.Plus it's made out of such cheap plastic it broke like cold wax when I tried e to pull out the door. I didn't even realize it was stuck when I pushed the door back, it broke so easily. The door is technically still functional, but it is just another broken or fragile part on a BRAND NEW bonnet.3. Removing lens caps is a struggle. All I did was check the functionality as they come out and remove the protective film from them. I'm pretty scared that next time I'll have to take these things from here. The headgear completely blocks you all the time. Do yourself a favor and take care of it, don't take it out, let me make that mistake for you too. I'll get to that in a moment. As you struggle with it, it looks like all those incredibly cheap plastic parts you have to pull to get things in and out are breaking every second. The design of the frame for each protective screen was made for cost reasons without considering the interests of the end user. Technically they work, but folding and changing these covers is quite difficult. Every single thing with this hood is a struggle and everything feels cheap. 4. While you're struggling with the lens caps, putting them on and taking them off, and your headgear blocking you, take extra care not to damage the incredibly thin exposed cables that run from the controls on the outside of the helmet to the lens box. It's literally just bare wire ribbon with very thin, flimsy insulation. Oh, and the place you reinsert that wire when you insert the lens box is a hard plastic nip that was also horribly constructed. It's very easy to get snagged on cables where the hood itself can crush them, as evidenced by the fact that the hood came with the cables wedged in the frame and the frame flexed from where the cables were wedged into it. I can't wait for this to fail as long as I have an arc in my face. 5. I honestly can't believe how awful the headgear assembly is. There are half a dozen separate pieces on each side that attach to the hood, and none of them are attached to each other in any way when you remove the outer tension knob. You take the handle off and the plastic parts are everywhere. Aligning and reseating them all so that the super cheap soft plastic screw goes deep enough to screw the knob back in is an exercise in patience. It's not hard to see where they're going, it's just that they're poorly designed and built so they don't exactly snap and stay in line. They also seem so cheap that I'm honestly not sure how they won't melt the first time I strike the arc.6. In case it's unclear, every detail here is made from the cheapest plastic imaginable. As a kid I had a dollar toy with a heavier plastic feel than this one. It's just the general overall build quality that makes me dread trying this hood out on a Monday. Thank goodness I have a backup of the old Jackson in case that thing inevitably blows up on day one. I don't understand how this thing has such a high rating. These are either fake reviews or amateurs who don't know anything. Must be. No one who makes a living from welding will want this hood right away after taking it out of the box and fiddling with it for 5 minutes.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • Ok, but...
