Review on πŸ”₯ Dr. Heater DR966 240V Hardwired Shop Garage Commercial Heater, 3000W/6000W by Heather Phillips

Works well in a metal walled garage.

The heater works very well in this garage. I set it up so a 6ft person could easily reach the controls, but it's tall enough not to get in the way. I added a safety chain because there would be a vintage restoration underneath and I didn't want to risk the heater falling off. Specifications call for a 35 amp circuit breaker; I set it to 30 amps. The heater has two settings: 3000 watts and 6000 watts. A 30 amp switch at 240 volts can handle 7200 watts. When it comes to technical performance, the rule of thumb is 80%, which corresponds to 5760 watts. Nothing else can be seen on this diagram, however, and the total length of the wiring is only about 20 feet. There is therefore no risk of overloading.

Pros
  • Well done
Cons
  • boring packaging
