This headset took a little getting used to as my other headset had the microphone on the left side. One day I put the headset on the wrong side and figured there wouldn't be a deal, I'd just turn the mic the other way. Well, that's not how it works. The microphone is strictly on the right. My other headset also had volume and mute controls on the cord itself, but that's why I needed a new headset. The controls seemed stuck and no amount of troubleshooting steps could fix it. With this headset, once you raise the mic to a certain point, it turns off and says "Mute". When you flip the mic back down, it says "on". While I like this headset, the sound quality is excellent and there was no background noise during calls. Definitely recommend it even if it looks different than what you have now.
