Review on Tea Forte Kati Cup Lotus: Ceramic Tea Infuser Cup with Basket and Lid for Steeping Loose Leaf Tea by Andrew Agarwal

The perfect combination of functional design and aesthetics

I like to start the morning with a few cups of hot tea. I prefer loose leaf teas where I can mix teas and add spices to my heart's content. Originally thought of as 700ml+ kettles, but our kitchens are tight on space and kettles can be awkward to clean. Then I came across this mug. I find joy in things that are well thought out and pleasing to the eye. This trophy is the winner in both categories. When not in use, it doesn't take up much space in the closet. The filter basket works very well - the holes are very small so the tea leaves don't end up in my cup. When I add ground spices, some come through, but that's not a problem for me. It's easy to wash. I usually make two brews with leaves and spices. It's easy with Katya – I remove the filter and put it aside for the next call. I leave the lid open between sips of tea and the tea stays hot for quite a while unlike a regular cup. Although the mug is insulated, I found it very warm on the outside after brewing for 3-5 minutes. But not so warm that I couldn't hold it.

Pros
  • INSULATED DOUBLE WALL keeps tea warmer longer than a traditional tea mug - pour hot water into a Kati mug and let it steep before picking it up
Cons
