Like all tank caps, it must be pressed in sequence, even if the door is closed.

You have to press it in the bend, like all gas caps, even lockable ones, and the door closes. I have 68 for the last 3/4 years and they have the same gas cap for 69. It will fit if you know how to use the gas cap ;)
