Great replacement: Caps

All is good but there is no torque reset function when fully tightened. I like to hear a click after screwing it in so I know it's fully tightened. minor problem. Cap is ok.

Buy an original BMW - not this one

Eh. Easy to replace but very obvious lack of quality. Fits - rotates - but it is lightweight plastic and cannot be compared to an original BMW cover. Spend more money - get the original.

Cannot distinguish this gas cap from the original BMW cap.

One and a half times cheaper than a real baseball cap, but just as good. Looks like the real thing, but no one will see your gas cap except you anyway. Unless you live in New Jersey.

Works well - reasonable price

The lanyard attaches easily and the gas cap works as it should. Definitely a better price than BMW OEM. I saw a review that indicated that these caps were of lower quality than the original BMW but they seem very similar to me.

It's a gas cap, but the cable lasted "days ".

The tether has snapped, apparently just from the heat. The end of the cable that connects to the gap is simply "unplugged" from the cap itself. This is a harder plastic than the more rubbery cable from the original BMW. The lid itself seems to hold the gas tank well under vacuum, but don't rely on the tether to keep the lid from falling off.

Perfect replacement

That happens over time. The rubber connector becomes brittle and breaks. You get distracted at the gas station and for some reason you forget to put your cap on and leave. The hat falls down the street and disappears into the dimension where all socks end up when eaten by the dryer. The cost was about half what they charge in local stores and most of the time the cap still has to be ordered online. And the most important thing: the equipment is perfect. Thus, the dashboard no longer complains…
