Looks cheap because it is.

I have replaced my gas cap with this since I did a diagnostic test and was told it was my gas cap. They said if I change it the light will go out. So I bought these and the light is still on. I think I'll take my car to the mechanic now. Update 3/28/19 on the gas cap, still looks cheap because it's plastic, but after my car was repaired by the mechanics everything has been working fine so far.

Gas burns so fast

Really wanted it to work. My check engine light is on and someone suggested replacing my gas cap as a possible solution. I put it on, heard a click etc. It seemed to fit my car perfectly. I used up a full tank of fuel much quicker than usual. striking. I put the old cap back on and my mileage is back to normal. (The check engine light never went off either, but that's another issue) Next time I'll just go to the auto parts store.

  • Good product for the price

  • Not sure

Good replacement for OEM

Good product for the price. I replaced the gas cap because my old check engine light kept coming on every few days. I bought it after reading that it could be caused by a broken gas cap (which is about 11 years old). I liked how it felt in my hand and it fits perfectly. The only problem is that it doesn't connect to the gas cap cable, so I have to remove the gas cap and put it on the roof every time I fill up with gas, but that's fine.

Gas cap fit for Toyota Camry Gen4/Gen4.5 1998 1999 2000 2001

This #10834 fits Toyota Camry gen4/gen4.5 1998,1999,2000,2001. seems to offer a good seal and after 6 months of using a new cap it doesn't draw CEL codes. If there was a complaint I would say that the surface area of the cap is slightly smaller than the OEM size gas cap. That makes opening the lid a bit more difficult for people with thumbs or for people who need to carry something on their hands in winter. Thankfully, being in Florida, I have no idea what happens to people in the winter. If…

Great replacement case!

Cap for Honda CRV '99 great. This gas cap is of excellent quality, it's strong, it closes tightly and as I said; it fits perfectly on my 99 Honda CRV. It should be noted that this gas cap is smaller than my standard cap in terms of external dimensions so it fits easily in my gas cap and one more thing to note (as I'm sure you can see) is that this is not the Case does have a cord to hold on to. it to the machine and it cannot be added. That's what I miss most about my old gas cap, instead of…

Does what it says on the tin at a fraction of the price of a genuine part

When the engine light came on on my 2003 Toyota Corolla I had it checked by a mechanic who told me the rubber seal on my gas cap was the culprit . I decided to take a closer look to see if there are cheaper alternatives to the original parts. In my case, a "real" Toyota gas cap would cost me about $15, which I thought was a bit much. After looking at various compatible, inexpensive brands, I decided to give the Stant a try. A few quick notes and YMMV (no pun intended!) but I found the cap to be

Honda dealer must think I'm on meth

Miraculously I lost my gas cap on my Honda Element a while back. I bought a $12 replacement cap from Autozone and the "Check Gas Cap" warning has been flashing ever since the replacement. Often the warning continued to appear after the gas was injected. A special symbol/indicator for checking emissions has recently been introduced. I had enough. I bought a fixed gas cap here and it arrived a day early. After installing the Stant gas cap (which appears to be of good quality) the light went away…

This is a great price for a gas cap

This is a great price for a gas cap, it is of similar quality to the OEM cap although it differs in the style of the gas cap for my 2005 Honda. Citizen LX. For the first time in over 10 years/190,000 miles my Civic had an emissions/engine light on which bothered me. After checking my service manual I saw that it says this can often be caused by a loose fuel cap, but also read your manual as even after fixing it it can take 3 days for the light to go out assuming , it was a real problem. When I…
