Suitable for a 99 Mustang. on the gas cap

Fits my '99 Mustang. However, it does not click at the end of the round. I have previously purchased an unbranded cap from a local parts store but am not happy with how it feels when tightened. I bought this hoping it would be identical to a lost OE that clicked a few times when tightened. Click once, like. However, it feels better than my first replacement, so I'm keeping it to myself.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Works as it should. on Caps

I bought this as my first step to try and fix code P0455 on my 1998 Ford Ranger 2.5. This didn't fix the problem but I thought I should start with the simplest solution before wasting time, money and work on other possible causes. He does his job as it should. I wouldn't expect it. (CEL P0455 was fixed by replacing the CX2127 purge valve in the engine bay.)

It didn't fit. - Caps

I bought this for my son's Crown Victoria. He lost his original after the cable broke and he left it at the gas station. I thought buying Motorcraft means getting the exact same thing. This one just didn't fit. There are three tiny protrusions at the bottom that don't allow the cap to fit the hole at all. I'm considering taking my dremel there rather than returning it to see if I can get it working.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Update availability

Easy repair is best with gas caps

I bought a stant-lock gas cap but it hurt so I put the original cap back on. Fuel pressure is still required. It started out slow and intermittently "gulped" through the throttle body. The retailer's limit price was too high. I ventured that it seemed something as simple as the cap was wrong. (I was desperate) This fixed the problem, didn't cost an arm or a leg and was exactly the same as stock. Now I just need over 50 degrees winter so I can ride it all year round.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Perfect fit, easy to swap out

Authentic Ford Motorcraft product in original parts packaging, perfect fit. Price difference. This cap comes with a hanger, as shown, that mates with one of the three mounting screws that attach the fuel tank to the body panel insert. This will require an approximately 8mm socket or equivalent. The gas cap also works without a latch, but will not stay in place when filling the tank unless this hanger is secured.

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • Will not fit all

Original parts, high quality and fixed my MIL errors.

A first lesson: only buy genuine OEM parts. Now my story begins: My old Lincoln had a MIL code for P0457, which reads like a gas cap leak. I inspected the gas cap, which is 13 years old and has never been changed, everything looks fine. My mistake was not replacing it properly but digging into the evaporator valves. Did a smoke test in my buddy's garage and found leaks at the filler neck and gas cap. My second mistake was using a generic brand which didn't solve the MIL issue. I finally settled

  • Absolutely amazing!

Fits my 2001 Ford Explorer XLT. This is the exact same cap that I bought from my local Ford dealer - I replaced the original gas cap about 6 years ago after my "gas cap light" came on. After I replaced the original cap (which felt good to me) the gas cap light was still on. I found that my "gas pen" had a hole in it, so I replaced the pen as well. Ford replacement cover reinstalled and the light went out. This part I bought from Revain is exactly the same as the one from my Ford dealer. The…
