Very easy to attach to a standard 4" x 4" camper bumper. But the bumper on my camper was a bit wider on one side and much narrower on the other. Simply drilling holes in the carrier mount is one size larger than the C-clamp screw that holds the carrier to the bumper that wraps around the bumper and it fits, but the C-clamp thread was for a 4" wide bumper so I did just added a piece of wood to the width of the bumper to make the c-clamp fit for purpose. The strength of this product is as good as the strength of the bumper. Love the fact that it folds up so you can install it even if there is a vent behind to access the vent.
