I have about 2500 35mm slides from the 60's, 70's and 80's made by friends and family but mostly landscapes, plants and animals that I as an artist I use as a reference source for my paintings. A few years ago I noticed that my slides darkened noticeably with age, despite proper storage. I decided to convert them to a digital format, which to be honest is a lot of work considering the total number. I wanted to buy a digital slide converter that would get the job done but there is no white elephant on my shelf after my slides conversion is complete. I chose the ION SLIDE2PC because of the cost and options. I also wanted to make sure it was Vista compatible. Setup and calibration was easy, after a few trial runs I switched off and started the rebuild. I have Photoshop so I usually have to bring each photo and tweak it if possible. I think this product is great for the price. I really wish I had more options when scanning my slides as many of them are nearing the point of no return but with the much higher cost of next level slide converters configured before scanning and saving can be, I'm glad who bought this article. Highly recommended for general use. but considering the much higher cost of next-level slide converters, who have the ability to customize before scanning and saving, I am glad I purchased this item. Highly recommended for general use. But after weighing the much higher cost of next-level slide converters that offer customization options before scanning and saving, I'm glad I bought this item. Highly recommended for general use.
