I don't want to be unfair to the seller and I assumed that any dowelling tool at this price point would require some modifications, to achieve acceptable results. . Since the higher quality tool I wanted could not be delivered on time, I decided to take a chance on this item. What I didn't expect was the amount of built in slop to compensate for a test pattern x over 1/16th of an inch. Push the guide down to increase the remaining travel on misses up to 4x for a post-delivery rework project if you intend to get consistently accurate results with this jig. If you have a lathe or mill it's fine, otherwise some have reported satisfactory results simply by fitting them with large o-rings/seals etc. I've put them away until I have time to turn some new parts , and just ordered a jig to start with.
