I love this material! Demanding in surface preparation. Best results are obtained when this paste is applied to a matte substrate such as plaster or matte acrylic paint. It doesn't show the color underneath. So if you are looking for this type of cracked icing, this is not the product for you. I frosted the dried crackle paste where the thin frosting fills in the cracks and it's absolutely beautiful. Also, it adds a lot of eye-catching texture to your composition and the results are stunning. If the paste is applied in a thick layer (1/2 to 3/4 inch), it will not start cracking until the next day and will not crack for 3-4 days. But if the paste is applied less than 1/4 inch, it will start cracking after a few hours. However, it takes several days to harden. Waiting for it to dry is painful, it's worth it, I promise!
