These two stitches fit into the cut outs between the rear wheel arches and the back of the boot on either side of my 2016 Lincoln MkZ. The velcro is tight so the cutouts allow me to stash some heavy items: a small tool kit, fire extinguisher, first aid kit, empty pockets, collapsible snow shovel, flashlight, etc. The velcro never comes off. A much cleaner solution for me than cramming everything into a large tote bag that takes up a lot of space in the middle of the trunk.
