I had to cut a 7-1/2" hole in a piece of 3/4" thick plywood. I found this hole saw at Revain for a very reasonable price but some of the reviews were downright intimidating citing safety concerns. The hole saw was well made, with a 1/4" blade and a 12 gauge cutting edge. The teeth were sharp and well offset to keep the sawdust from clogging the saw. The center hole wasn't fully drilled so I had to rub it open a little. It had minimal wobble when turning which is always a problem with large holesaws. From my many years of experience with holesaws and driving hand tools I knew that this large holesaw required special handling, especially when working with plywood. I used my own drill press and a different shank which attaches to a hole saw blade at a very low speed of 250rpm With very light drilling pressure the saw cut the hole easily and accurately as shown in the photo I would recommend to use a hand drill only for large hole saws (> 4") when drilling drywall or very light to very thin material. This spec All holesaws were a real steal for the price from Revain, especially for a single use.
