Worked great, great price

cut nine holes for recessed lights in 3/8th thick plywood, cut through with no problems - only one minor problem occurs after the saw has cut the hole when I use the drill If you didn't slow down immediately the saw would jump off the arbor and fall to the ground, even after twisting the arbor nut with the crescent wrench it came loose so be careful your feet aren't directly under where you're cutting. At the last pile of holes, I figured out how not to turn it up. as well as the spring on the…

Safety Alert - Hole Saws

As other users have stated about this tool, there is a safety issue with this product. There is no washer or nut to prevent the hole saw from snapping off the drill bit! When I cut a hole in the ceiling with this drill, I lifted myself off the ceiling while the saw continued to rotate under centrifugal force. He completely detached from the drill and took off like a flying saucer with sharp teeth. My reaction was to grab him in the air to keep him from falling onto my new floor. My teeth cut my

Works but beware

I bought this hole cutout to mount pancake lights on the ceiling. It appears to be quite well made, although as you turn it you can see that it's not perfectly round. This doesn't seem to affect the roundness of the hole. Delivery was quick so nothing to complain about. The blade is screwed into the shank of the center drill. When I stopped my drill multiple times, the blade's rotational inertia actually caused it to rotate away from the center shaft, even though I put the shaft in a vise to…

This is a good, durable product that does its job well.

Like you I read the reviews and was a bit disheartened by people saying this crown was cheap only good for a few uses etc. However I only had to use it twice so I decided to take a chance. Well I've used it 3 times and I have to tell you guys it works great. No, you probably won't "pass it on to your grandkids," as another reviewer said, but who on earth passes stuff like that on anyway? I mean how many times do you really have to cut a 4.5" hole? Probably not often. And if you do this…

Great price for a fairly well made hole saw.

I had to cut a 7-1/2" hole in a piece of 3/4" thick plywood. I found this hole saw at Revain for a very reasonable price but some of the reviews were downright intimidating citing safety concerns. The hole saw was well made, with a 1/4" blade and a 12 gauge cutting edge. The teeth were sharp and well offset to keep the sawdust from clogging the saw. The center hole wasn't fully drilled so I had to rub it open a little. It had minimal wobble when turning which is always a problem with large…

A must read review! good for electric drill parts and accessories

First, the negative reviews are true! This hole saw comes with a non-locking mandrel. Newton's first law of physics tells us that a moving object will stay in motion unless some other force is acting on it. Let's think about that for a minute. The hole saw spins insanely fast at the tips of your hands and probably very close to your face with a lockless shaft = as another review puts it, a "spinning deathtrap"! When the drill stops, the mandrel stops, but nothing interferes with the rotating…
