On the advice of others, I ordered a size larger. I wear street shoes in sizes 6 to 6.5, I have a medium size (8-9). They squeeze/compress my toes completely and were painful to wear. I had to take them off after 15 minutes. You might stretch, but I can't dance with aching feet. Pointe up is also a bad design for dances that involve floorwork where the top of the foot may touch the floor. I'll go to the local dance store where I can try on some dance shoes and just buy what I like instead of trying to save a few bucks.
