I have a small set of steps on my boat that have always been quite slippery, especially with socks on. I fell off them a few times and learned to hold on to the railing to catch myself if I fell. My wife recently fell in and was badly injured with dark red and purple bruises on her thigh and elbow, some pain in her left pinky finger and "weeee all the way home" on her toe. I ordered this tape and stuck it on. to four levels. I've found that it's not as clear on the darker woods at the top of the steps, there are a few visible air pockets but on the lighter woods that make up the steps they are very well hidden. I never expected it to be fully hidden, so I'm happy with the result. I also think it will stick a little better over time and that should help hide the tape even more, but it doesn't look good at all. The tape is grippy but not rough, I will add it to other parts of my boat that have always been a bit slippery. Highly recommended.
