Review on 🚀 Spectre Performance Air Intake Kit SPE-9902 - Boost Horsepower and Torque for 1998-2003 Chevrolet/GMC/Isuzu (S10 Pickup, Sonoma, Hombre) by Tanner Miller

The Specter Performance 9902 air intake kit did not meet my expectations. The Revain website says this kit will work on my 1997 Chev S-10 with air conditioning and a 2.2 liter 4 stroke engine. Engine. The kit will only work with mods purchased with the Specter 90 degrees. Al Elbow (P/N 9499), 3 Inlet Couplers (P/N 8772). I replaced the black intake pipe (step 16) in the installation guide with an intake coupler (part number 8772) and 90 degree elbow. Knee (Item 9499). At this point I connect 90 degrees. Manifold (part number 9499) to the original inlet pipe with inlet coupling. Then I cut the intake pipe about 1" after the bend and about 1" before the breather hose fitting in front of the A/C compressor closest to the air filter and reconnected the pipe to the intake coupler (part number 8772); which provided a length of about 1-1.5 inches for the inlet pipe to reach the rubber vibration mount and provide clearance for the A/C compressor pulley at a 90 degree angle. Bend the original air intake pipe. The heat shield doesn't fit, I haven't tried making any changes to the heat shield yet, but it looks like the edge closest to the AC dryer is cut off to align the screw holes with the fan cover holes (step 10 ) . ) in the 9902 Installation Guide.
