Review on πŸ” Enhanced SEO: Pop & Lock PL8662 Silver Power Tailgate Lock for Honda Ridgeline (Smart Lock Combination) by Haggis Bryant

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Very good, but lacks good documentation.

This review could have received 5 stars if the manufacturer had simply included a picture of a plug in the fuse box where the wires had to be connected in order for the electric lock part to work. Your instructions were too vague and in broken English, I was able to find a picture with a google search with arrows showing two wires (yellow with black stripe and yellow with green stripe) on the Honda Ridgeline's green connector. behind the fuse box on the driver's side for the cables in these colors. There were 4 pairs of yellow/black and yellow/green to choose from. One small problem: the pictures that came with the horribly photocopied instructions were almost impossible to see clearly. Too dark, too small and too washed out. The final small issue is that the power latch mechanism has a very small foam bumper that isn't large enough to fit snugly against the metal in the tailgate. Now every time I close the tailgate I hear a springy sound of vibrating metal, similar to springy doorstops in houses or an arrow flying into a tree at high speed. Buy some weatherproof foam at your local hardware store to complement the metal locking bracket. Preferably double-sided sticky adhesive to avoid springy noises when closing the tailgate. I've attached a picture to the review to help the next Ridgeline owner install this tailgate latch.
