Review on ๐Ÿ–จ๏ธ JAYO PLA 3D Printing Filament by Andrew Woodruff

I don't like filament in 3D printing

I'm new to ABS printing, I've been printing PLA for a few months and decided I need prints with higher heat resistance that might be a little more durable. . So far I'm not impressed with this particular ABS. I find the prints quite brittle (in fact I have no problem breaking them in half) even at 100% coverage. I'll continue to print with it and tweak my settings to see if I can improve it - I've even ordered a new build plate and nozzle upgrade just for ABS printing (I'll be using separate nozzles for PLA and ABS once they arrive). This thread has its advantages. First of all the quality looks good and what I print is pretty good and detailed and they look great. The black has a nice matte finish and I think it looks good. The build plate grip (which I currently have) is good, too good as one of my builds broke when I got tired of taking it off. It also leaves marks on my record (the first few don't), which again may depend on my settings or the material of the records, which I'm about to fix. Overall as my introduction to ABS I really wanted to love this thread but can't say I will, said I'll do some updates and play around with the settings and see if I can improve my prints. If so, I'll definitely update my review. Now if you're just typing in ABS because you have a thing against PLA, and making little bells and whistles that don't need to endure anything other than sitting on your desk, then this filament is ready to go.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky
