I don't like to just throw out bad product reviews, but in this case I'll make an exception. After unpacking the two racks, I attempted to test the strength of the piston. This was before the existing shelving was dismantled. Basically I wanted to see how much pressure it takes to close the piston. What I found was that even with my full body weight (180 pounds) pressing on the bar, it didn't move even a fraction of an inch. To make matters worse, the second rack had the same problem. It was as if someone poured cement into the pistons, which prevented the struts from moving at all. Being mechanical, I really looked at them from all angles. to see if they need a rotation or other tweaking to work. There was no solution. Well, if just one of the props was bad, you could just write that off as bad luck, but the fact that both were dead on arrival? Hey, maybe just my two were the only total failures? But in all seriousness, I would advise that you consider other options until that manufacturer takes quality control action.
