My son is skinny for his age so he needed a belt to wear his pants without the removable garter inside. I bought the straps large because I followed the sizing for the length he asked for. I'm not saying it didn't fit, but it hardly suited him. A little more and it would have been on the belt and not the leather part. Now I like that it's stretchy at the same time because it grows with you. (If he doesn't lose all four. He's ten.) It also folds up and doesn't take up much space unlike other bulky harnesses. They were packed in four small pouches and I was afraid they would be too small, but they were just rolled up. Otherwise I would suggest, but I would suggest downsizing. Then another growth spurt. :)
