I am a 40 year old male who has been snorkeling with various mask and snorkel combinations since he was 12 years old. I bought three of these for myself and my kids (12 and 9 years old) because I wanted to try this new style of snorkel and compare it to the classic mask and snorkel. We have a pool in the backyard and my kids are great swimmers who can easily use a classic mask and snorkel. Water out of the snorkel and even harder to clear the mask of water or mist. When you are in open water it is almost impossible to take your mask off and put it back on, you have to swim to shore to put it back on. My kids had a lot of trouble with it too. They were disappointed and stopped using them after 10 minutes. I've tried them in our pool and in the river. We spent more time putting them on and taking them off than enjoying snorkeling. The only positive thing I have to say is that when they're on they have a great wide angle view and nothing blocks your view.
