The 2.4 GHz band is hopelessly overloaded here. Did a little research, saw that it was recommended by the community and the installation couldn't be simpler. Pi powered off, plugged in, booted up, added 5GHz WiFi. Different ends of the apartment from wifi adapter to kitchen, bathroom and 5 walls - but I still get 200+ MB with this little beauty. Note. *Required* Make sure you have a 2.5A power supply for your Pi. A lack of power to your USB devices affects performance, at least for me. My old PS became a bit marginal and a local PS increased my throughput on the adapter by almost 100MB.
