I bought these because my woodwork involves making various jigs, but also making tables in my unfinished basement often means it's not quite level; enough to toss the item 1/2 inch or so, which knocks out everything else. I tested them with 2x4 trims so I could make a small support stand for my jointer. The process is very simple as all you really need is a drill (3/8 inch I think) and a hammer. As long as the hole is long and straight enough, simply drive the panel in and screw in each leg. They all come with a protective film on the polished nickel surface to prevent scratches; Of course, no one will really look at their legs, but it's a nice touch. The filaments appear to be very smooth and have no problem buckling any of the stems. The bottom is made of hard plastic, so no rubber. If you plan to use this on a delicate floor or don't want any marks I would definitely use a felt backing or rubber depending on the application. Little did I know how useful these adjustable leveling feet are. This means that practically everything can be aligned in no time at all, be it a table, turned upside down and thus adjusted everything.
