I bought a plastic bin for our composter and a separate yellow lid for the biowaste bin. We looked at stainless steel jars but after reading the reviews we realized they wouldn't last. Although it's made of plastic, it's very durable and looks great on the counter. And for a third of the cost, it makes the most sense.
