Review on Beck Arnley 043 3000 Fuel Filter by Elijah Pope

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Successful installation and first filter change.

Just finished installing it on my 2000 Toyota Echo. Pump, sensor and O-rings are tight. My experience of changing a Toyota fuel filter for the first time after the car has driven 100,000 miles was interesting. Experienced sluggish acceleration that was more subtle than a spark plug issue and some deterioration in gas mileage. After changing the fuel filter I thought I had screwed up and was troubled by terrible acceleration that felt like my spark plugs were out. After riding it for a while, it worked on its own and was more responsive than ever. At least that's what you would expect from a 4 cylinder 1.3 liter engine with over 220,000 miles on it. The problem was because I "pumped" the gas line (removed the sensor from the top of the filter housing and tried to start the car to let the gas out so it wouldn't leak everywhere when I blew the fuel line ). Good experience for my first fuel filter change, will buy again in 30-50k miles if my car lasts that long.

Pros
  • Built to withstand harsh environments
Cons
  • Hard to say
