I used to spray my white car with black tire shop spray in front of these guards. Once I washed the car, I took a rag and wiped the excess bandage off the tire... And my car will look like the first two photos. After installation, I immediately washed the car again, but this time I didn't wipe off the excess bandage. NOTHING from the side of my car. And those shutters didn't get smashed in the car wash. Installation was easy with some common tools. 4mm allen key, 10mm socket and Phillips screwdriver. The front panel is mounted with factory screws. Simply remove the three 4mm hex bolts from the wheel well and one 10mm hex bolt from the underside. Align the cover with the four holes and replace the four screws. For the rear panel, remove the 10mm hex screw from the bottom and align it with the bottom hole of the cover, then reinstall the screw. Then drill two new holes (using light pressure) in the wheel well using the Phillips head screws provided. So far I am very happy with this purchase.
