The scope is suitable for observing the moon and planets. The supplied eyepiece is not sufficient to observe finer details. I had to buy a 6mm eyepiece separately to get a closer look at the moon and planets. Although the view from the ground is not bad. I would recommend buying 120mm or more to have room for future expansion if needed. I've heard that a 4mm eyepiece doesn't give good images as a 76mm diameter isn't big enough for that kind of magnification. I would say 6mm is the lowest you can try with this scope.
