Review on 🔭 Celestron Oceana 7x50 Porro Prism Binoculars, Black - Model 71189-A by Amy Moore

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Celestron Oceana 7x50

Received it yesterday as I only had a small opportunity to test it I can only give a first impression The optical quality is very very good, not perfect but very good, for the most part for the price . (5 stars out of 5 at this price) The build quality is fantastic, they feel very solid, are covered in rubber armor and are totally waterproof. (5 stars out of 5) Comfortable, pretty good, a bit stiff but I expect them to loosen up over time. (4 stars out of 5) The instruction manual for these binoculars requires some math to determine the size or distance of an object. While the instructions were adequate, they were a bit lacking. (4 out of 5 stars) Accessories (lens cap, binocular case). This is a double-edged sword. Expectations. The lens caps aren't great, the front caps are great, they're attached to the body so you don't lose them. The back is almost unusable. This is a cap that is designed for both but cannot be installed securely. (4 stars out of 5 due to reverse side) Compass, not familiar with marine compasses, I was a bit surprised not to see N or S or E or W. But after 5 seconds I was able to figure out the grades. The lighting was great and it was easy to read. This way you always know exactly where you are looking. The compass integrated in the range finder is a big plus for me. (5 stars out of 5) I like these binoculars very much, I hope that they will meet my expectations in long-term use. I'll be taking them out this weekend to do more testing and see if the rangefinder is correct and if the optics are as good as I think they are.
