Review on Phrozen Functional Resin TR250LV High by Dee Parson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Withstands high temperatures as advertised

Unlike many other resins that advertise high HDT, this resin actually holds its shape when exposed to high temperatures (we used it in a hot car in the sun and cold tested). The color should be described as silver rather than gray as it is quite close to white. I would say the fine detail is below par compared to most resins. I used 2.8 seconds/layer on Uniz IBEE (Mono). Remember to clean and cure the parts quickly, these parts seem more prone to warping than usual. The main downside for our purposes is how hard this resin is; It's similar to glass in its rigidity, so don't expect any bends, bends, threads, latches or anything like that. It's just going to break or break. To counteract this, we mixed 2 parts of this resin with 1 part Additive Plus Black Flex Resin. Mix well; poor mixing resulted in an error in one of our tests. The result has almost ideal properties for functional parts, a balanced ratio of hardness and toughness with high temperature resistance. This mixture required a slightly longer exposure time than most of the functional resins we tested (3.2 s per layer on IBEE - most functional resins require 2.8 s per layer).
