It may be the same quality as the factory part

I used the HFP-382 as a replacement in my 2004 Mitsubishi Outlander. The cost of a factory replacement was just under $400. I wanted to replace the pump and fuel filter with good aftermarket parts. My pump unit consists of a pump, a fuel filter and a pressure regulator. I dared this pump. I ordered this pump from Revain. I think this pump might be of the same quality as the one I replaced. I installed this pump and it works fine and quiet. To install, I check the fuel level in the tank to almost zero before removing the pump. It is safest to work outdoors with the car. Have a bucket or other container handy to place the removed block as it will be saturated with fuel. First pull the fuel pump fuse under the hood and crank the engine to relieve pressure, then disconnect the battery negative terminal. Cable. I then vacuumed all the dirt on top of the fuel pump block before removing it from the tank. After cleaning, remove the fuel line and have a rag handy. If pressure is still present, remove the wire connectors from the fuel tank pump and remove the pump assembly from the tank and cap the hole to avoid contaminating the fuel in the tank. After disassembly, examine the unit carefully, if necessary take a picture before disassembling and/or use a marker to mark the location of the assembly parts. Take a good look at your pump and the one you bought, they should look the same and have the inlet and outlet in the same place. It's also important to make sure the intake manifold is at the same depth in the tank as the old one with the inlet nose filter, so take a close look before disassembly. If your unit has a fuel gauge sensor mounted on the pump assembly, be careful not to bend or squeeze the lever as this may result in inaccurate fuel gauge readings. To be on the safe side you may want to have a spare fuel pump assembly for the o-ring or tank gasket before removing the tank assembly, but most are reusable. Also, do not replace the fuel pump without replacing the fuel filter. Note: The sock filter is a pre-filter, not a main filter, so check it out. The 2 wire connector that comes with the pump connects to your new pump and the bare ends of the wires should be connected to the other end of your tank. Interconnects. So you have to cut the wires from your old pump wiring harness and connect them with wire connectors or better solder and use heat shrink tubing. It is important that these connections are tight and cannot short out as they are inside the fuel tank. If possible, use all mounting sleeves and hoses from the original pump. After the replacement is complete, reinstall the pump in the tank and connect the fuel hose, wires, and other connectors, but do not install the block cover until you have checked for leaks after starting the vehicle. Now install the fuse, connect the battery cable. Now just turn the key to the "on" position 2-3 times without starting the car. This activates the pump and increases the pressure in the fuel lines. Now start the car and check for fuel leaks from the fuel line to the pump unit. Before installing the fuel cap, fill the fuel tank at least 3/4 full with fuel, drive and check the oil seal or pump assembly gasket area for fuel leaks.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Not all will fit
