Review on πŸ“” Canson Artist Series Sketch Book Paper Pad - Ideal for Pencil and Charcoal Artwork, Acid Free, Hardbound - 65 Pound, 8.5 x 11 Inch, 108 Sheets by Julie Nelson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good binding, very thin paper - NOT suitable for alcohol markers!

Attached photos showing pencil drawing, then Copic markers (these are alcohol markers) - you can see the marker has spilled completely onto the next page. Not only does this paper bleed from the markers, the ink also bleeds slightly outward from the line you make, resulting in fuzzy, blurry lines instead of fine lines. The paper works well with pigmented liners such as Pigma Micron pens, Staedtler, Copic liners. Multiliner and Rotring Ink/Isographs. However, the paper is so thin that you will definitely see lines on the back of the page and also through the page that is over the ink side. The only thing I like about this sketchbook is that the binding is good and the pages open pretty flat. However, I would not recommend this sketchbook for such thin paper, and it cannot be used with alcohol markers like Copic's sketch markers. Choose another option if you want to paint at all!
